A debut solo album from saxophonist Erin Rogers, Dawntreader invites the listener on a wave-breaking journey, weaving lyrical stories with an unconventional voice. Expressive, freely improvised, and acoustic, Dawntreader comprises three distinct works, each of which explores and develops a singular idea over time. Featuring soprano and tenor saxophones, and with extensive use of harmonics, multiphonics, vocalization, dynamics, and the inciting of outer resonance, Rogers builds plural lines and textures through the instrument, shaping, breaking, expanding and contracting the undressed tone.
